Retired Football Coach/Athletic Director
Michael A. Miello was born Hackensack, New Jersey and graduated from Hackensack High School where he was a three-sport athlete (baseball, basketball and football). Attending the University of Rhode Island on a football scholarship, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He later earned a Master of Arts in administration and supervision from Seton Hall University.
His professional career spanned 45 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director and administrator at the high school and college levels. He is a past president of the Bergen County Coaches Association and the Bergen County Athletic Directors Association.
Michael has received numerous honors including being named “Coach of the Year” for football six times by various organizations and newspapers; he has been inducted into four halls of fame; was named the “Person of the Year” by both the Bergen County YMCA and the Hackensack Chapter of UNICO; and was a recipient of the Gerald R. Ford All-American Service to Football Award.
Michael has been married to Diane (Scioli) for 54 years and has two daughters, Dawn Williams (husband Shawn) and Denise Kelly (husband Kevin), and four grandchildren, Patrick and Anna Williams and Michael and Julia Kelly. The Miellos reside in River Edge, New Jersey.
