Super Bowl champion and New York Football Giants star
Stephen “The Touchdown Maker” Baker is a former NFL wide receiver. At just 5′8″ and 160 pounds, he starred at Hamilton High (Los Angeles) where he lettered in football, track, and gymnastics before excelling at Fresno State. Drafted in the third round by the New York Giants in 1987, he played six seasons, logged 141 catches for 2,587 yards and 21 touchdowns, and won a championship ring with New York in Super Bowl XXV, when they defeated the Buffalo Bills 20–19. Baker caught two passes for 31 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jeff Hostetler.
After retiring in 1992, Baker became a mentor and community leader in New Jersey, working in youth development, visiting schools and camps, and delivering motivational talks while also flying radio controlled planes and helicopters.
