On Saturday, November 17, 2018, Sky Mendoza’s life changed forever when she was involved in a car accident that claimed the life of her pregnant stepmother, and left her paralyzed from the neck down. Sky, a 17-year-old stage four paraplegic, now shares a small apartment with her father, sister and brother in Middletown, New York.
We need your help to build a wheelchair-accessible home for this family of four.
The City of Middletown recently donated a 0.15-acre site to a trust set up for Sky.
Proposal for Sky Mendoza’s home:
- Construction of a new home
- Handicap accessible rooms
- Wheelchair accessible entrance
We are accepting materials as well as volunteers for:
- Carpentry
- Construction
- Electrical work
- And other services
